COMMITTEE POSTS
The committee are looking to fill the roles of Treasurer and Halfway House Manager. If you can help, please approach anyone on the committee.
The Treasurer post would suit someone who can work with spreadsheets.
The Halfway House Manager would be responsible for ensuring the halfway houses are stocked and manned for inter club matches and several major competitions including the Senior Open. You would not be expected to man the halfway house yourself and miss out on golf.
Bird and Bat Box Project
Work on checking and repairing the 18 starling bird boxes, the owl box on the 6th hole and the 16 bat boxes has now been completed. We found that half of the bird boxes had been used by nesting birds and the owl box had clearly seen a lot of activity (see below before and after). The feathers appeared to be from barn owls. There was evidence of activity in the bat boxes and we will seek more expert opinion on whether this was from bats. One nest was full of dead chicks.
One box has been repaired with a new front panel after squirrels had eaten their way into it and further minor maintenance was carried out.

WHS Handicapping Changes from 1st April 2024
Your handicaps will be calculated differently from 1st April 2024. More details are available on the Golf Information page under Handicapping.

Bookings
Below are some points to note regarding booking:
The booking and subsequent draw will be carried out via HowDidiDo and the V1 system:
  • In order to book, either use HowDidiDo, selecting the relevant Seniors’ competition or contact the Proshop/Office prior to 5.00pm on the Monday before the competition, as this is when the draw happens, following this you will receive an email with your tee time.
  • Members without emails should ring the Proshop for their tee time/fellow players
  • Please note that there are now two time zones for the 18 hole competition and a separate availability for the 9 hole competition.
  • From 1st November 2021 we will be going off 2 tees, the 1st and 10th.​
